PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
Since 2016, the Board of Supervisors has referred the development of the Legislative Platform to the Board of Supervisors' General Government Standing Committee.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Pursuant to County Policy No. 19, the Board of Supervisors adopts an annual Legislative Platform reflecting the County priorities for legislative advocacy, state and federal funding, and issues of interest to local government. The Executive Office requests referral of the 2026 Legislative Platform to the General Government Standing Committee for input on legislative priorities for 2026. Previous Legislative Platforms have included the following categories: regulatory mandates and reform, governmental transparency & public access, roads & infrastructure, climate resilience & renewable energy, disaster prevention, recovery, resiliency & mitigation, natural resources, agriculture, economic & community development, cannabis, public safety, human services, public health, behavioral health, and homelessness.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION/MOTION:
Do not refer the platform to the General Government Committee and provide alternative direction to staff.
