Approve retroactive amendment to BOS Agreement No. 21-181 with California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) amending Purchasing Agent Agreement No. 24-27, increasing the amount by $55,190.30 for a new total amount of $97,611.30 for reimbursement of Noxious Weed (Gorse) Removal from the Caspar Community for the period of July 1, 2023, through December 31, 2027; and authorize the Chair to sign the same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
The Board has historically supported Gorse removal most recently approval of BOS Agreement providing reimbursement for Noxious Weed (Gorse) Removal. Approval of BOS Agreement 21-181 was approved by the Board of Supervisors on October 19, 2021 providing reimbursement for Noxious Weed (Gorse) Removal.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The original County/CDFA agreement for this project was approved by the Purchasing Agent in the amount of $42,421. This amendment increases the funding for the project by $55,190.30 to a total of $97,611.30 and extends the ending date to December 31, 2027. Noxious invasive species such as gorse use water, restrict the growth of native vegetation, their roots alter the soil, they are an oily plant that causes a fire hazard and they reduce recreation. The item is retroactive because the amendment was created by the State during the original agreement term.
