Adopt resolution authorizing submittal of grant application for the Sea Level Rise Resiliency Strategy Project to the California Coastal Commission LCP Local Assistance Grant Program, in the amount up to $500,000, authorize the Chief Executive Officer to execute the grant agreement and submit all documents if awarded; and authorize Chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
The Board approved Resolution 22-175 authorizing submittal of grant application up to $100,000 at the August 16, 2023 meeting.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
This non-competitive grant program provides funds to support local governments responsible for developing and amending Local Coastal Programs. Funds may be used for projects that are designed to assist in assessing impacts and planning for coastal resiliency, including adapting to the impacts of climate change and sea level rise, and which contain an LCP planning component.

The County submitted a pre-proposal application to a separate funder, the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), on April 20, 2022, to conduct a multi-jurisdictional planning process to assess and plan for potential impacts from sea level rise (SLR) on coastal areas of the county.
