The Board of Supervisors receives reports from the Library Advisory Board on an annual basis.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Library Advisory Board (LAB) provides recommendations to the County Librarian and Board of Supervisors about the library's operations, policy, services, and programs, and they are providing a report on the status of the Library to the Board of Supervisors. The library department has also provided its annual report as a consent agenda item today.
The LAB is recommending that a feasibility study be completed using Measure O funds to determine the best way forward to expand the Ukiah Main Branch whether by expanding or relocating. The LAB is sharing the 2021 Ukiah Branch Needs Assessment by Arch Nexus which documents the need for a larger branch to better meet the needs of the community. A feasibility study will help to move towards the County Strategic Plan priority of "An Effective County Government."
