PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
The Board of Supervisors approved the FY 2024-2025 Zip Books grant application on June 25, 2024: item 3at).

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Library has participated in Zip Books programs since 2012; Zip Books provide patrons with quick access to print books, large-type books, and audiobooks which may not be available through the Library by providing funding for the books to be mailed directly to the patrons from the vendor. The patrons then return the books to the library so they can be added to the collection.

The California State Library has awarded the Library a grant of $10,627 for this fiscal year to participate in the program. The Library will use a Zip Books dedicated credit card for the program and expects to serve approximately 275 patrons and add approximately 400 items to the collection. Grant funding of programs allow the Library to help the Board of Supervisors move towards the Strategic Plan priority of an Effective County Government.
