BOS previously approved a Library Internet Policy on 5/20/2014.
Summary of Request:
Mendocino County Library is reviewing and updating its policies and the internet safety policy is required for the Library to be in compliance with the Children’s Internet Safety Act (CIPA) in order to qualify for discount connectivity programs and grants. The template for this basic internet safety policy was provided by Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) which administers the E-Rate program.
The Internet Safety Policy has been approved by County Counsel and helps meet the Board of Supervisors’ Strategic Plan goal of a Safe and Healthy County.
