PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
Adoption of Ordinance No. 4175 adding Chapter 5.36 - Fire Protection Mitigation Fee to the Mendocino County Code. The Board previously adopted Mitigation Impact fees for Ukiah Valley Fire district in 2008.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Ukiah Valley Fire Protection District ("District") has taken the necessary steps to adopt a new fire protection mitigation fee pursuant to the Mitigation Fee Act (Government Code section 66000 et seq.) and Mendocino County Code Chapter 5.36. On November 28, 2023, the District adopted a resolution adopting a Capital Fire Facilities and Equipment Plan ("Plan") and requesting the Board of Supervisors to implement fire protection mitigation fees for the District, and then forwarded that resolution to the County. In response, County staff have noticed this meeting pursuant to the Mitigation Fee Act and Mendocino County Code Chapter 5.36.

Attached as part of this agenda item are (1) a resolution prepared for the Board's consideration, which includes the District's resolution and Plan as an exhibit and (2) the Nexus Study prepared by the District for the proposed fire protection mitigation fee. ...
