Summary of Request:
The North Bay Construction Corps (NBCC) is expanding its workforce development programming in Mendocino County to connect high school seniors with hands-on construction training, industry certifications, and career opportunities in the skilled trades. The program provides students with exposure to career pathways including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, concrete, and heavy equipment, while connecting participants with local employers and internship opportunities. Following the success of the program’s Sonoma County cohort, NBCC is now serving students across both inland and coastal Mendocino County and is working to strengthen employer partnerships and formalize a sustainable employment pipeline. North Coast Builder’s Exchange (NCBE) staff will provide the Board of Supervisors with an overview of the program’s progress, impact, and plans for continued expansion in Mendocino County.
