Summary of Request:
California Government Code section 1126 requires a county to adopt rules governing employees engaging in conflict-of-interest activities.
The County’s current Conflict of Interest Code contains some rules regarding conflict-of-interest activities, but does not include all provision required by Section 1126. The proposed policy would satisfy the requirements of Section 1126.
Additionally, a separate item is being brought forth concurrently with this proposed policy to remove the sections of the Conflict of Interest Code that currently fulfill some of the requirements of Section 1126, so that all the requirements of Section 1126 can be set forth in a separate policy.
