RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Ratify submission of grant application for the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) Proposition 64 Cohort 4, Public Health and Safety Grant Program, in the amount of $4,500,000 effective July 1, 2026, through December 31, 2031, to address public safety impacts associated with illicit commercial cannabis activity; authorize the Chief Executive Officer to sign the application; and authorize the Chair to sign the resulting Revenue Agreement, if awarded.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) administers the Proposition 64 Public Health and Safety Grant Program, which provides funding to local governments to address public health and safety impacts associated with illicit commercial cannabis activity. The BSCC has released a new funding opportunity under Prop 64. The Sheriff's Office has identified this grant as a critical source of support for enforcement and eradication of illicit commercial cannabis. If awarded, the funding will provide the Sheriff's Office with additional staffing targeted toward investigation of violent crimes and human trafficking tied to illegal cultivation sites, vehicles and specialized equipment (PPE, etc.), environmental remediatio...
