Authorize the Chief Executive Officer or her/his designee to purchase a Rubrik backup appliance and software licensing in the amount of $208,996; add item to the County's Fixed Asset list; and authorize the Chief Executive Officer or her/his designee to execute any and all documents in relation to the transaction.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
In November 2018 the Board of Supervisors approved the Information Technology (IT) Master Plan.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Initiative 87 of the IT Master Plan adopted in 2018, included recommendations to improve maintenance and security for routine backup procedures utilizing existing software and tape backup. The Executive Office - Information Technology Division is recommending the purchase of a Rubrik backup appliance with subscription licensing to replace existing legacy systems.
Rubrik will be replacing the legacy Scalar i500 Tape Juke, five (5) LTO tape drives, and hundreds of LTO six (6) backup tapes. The Scalar i500 will reach end of support in 2024 and the drives need to be resized as the County's storage requirements have increased, increasing County's backup size.
