RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Ratify submission of Agreement Funding Application No. 202623 to California Department of Public Health for Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Programs in the amount of $579,635 per fiscal year, for a total of $1,738,905 to support the delivery of services and benefits of the programs, effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029; authorize the Health Services Director, or designee, to accept the initial allocation and any additional allocations from the California Department of Public Health, Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Division.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) funds Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health
(MCAH) programs of the Mendocino County Department of Public Health (MCPH) to include MCAH Local, California Home Visting Program Expansion Program (CHVP EBHV), which support services to help parents and young children. Specifically, qualifying MCAH mother participants are eligible to receive nutrition education, preventing pre-term births, increasing breastfeeding support, and referrals to medical providers, medical and mental health services providers, and community services and resources. MCAH provides these supportive services through Community Health Workers who do in-person home visits throughout Mendocino County.
