Approve Agreement with Redwood Community Services, Inc., in the amount of $133,226 to provide expanded subsidized employment for CalWORKs participants, effective when Agreement becomes fully executed through June 30, 2020; authorize the Health and Human Services Agency Director or designee to sign any future amendments to the Agreement that do not affect the annual maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Redwood Community Services, Inc. (RCS) will provide a comprehensive and cohesive training program to develop or enhance employment skills of CalWORKs participants, while also providing employment placement opportunities for these participants during the 2019-20 fiscal year. These services will include subsidized employment for participants while they develop the skills and work history needed to move forward in obtaining self-sufficiency through employment. In addition to offering training with basic soft skills, participants will learn the specifics of the position they are hired for, and develop the reference needed to move forward. Services are available at any identified RCS site, opening greater opportunity for CalWORKs participants to be placed in positions consistent with their career goals.
