PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
In March 2020, Mendocino County voters approved Measure D, which imposed a transient occupancy tax on visitors staying in private campgrounds or recreational vehicle parks located in unincorporated areas of the County, and also approved Measure E, a non-binding measure advising the County to allocate the 25% of revenues raised by Measure D to be spent based on the recommendation of the fire chiefs of the recognized fire agencies in Mendocino County. The Board approved a retention of $292,977.75 in Fiscal Years 2022-2023 and 2024. The board also approved a retention of $168,723.44 in Fiscal Year 2024-2025. Agreement 26-010 was approved on February 24, 2026, to provide this funding for the Mendocino County Fire Chiefs Association, a California Non-Profit Corporation (MCFCA).

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
This item proposes approval of funding appropriations for the Mendocino County Fire Chiefs Association (MCFCA), for funding that has remained as fund balance from proceeds allocated as related to both Measure D and Measure E.
