RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:
recommendation
Approve Agreement (second amendment to Agreement JH-J23-003) with Armorous to extend the termination date of the Agreement to June 30, 2027, and amend Exhibit B Payment Terms, to provide security guard services for detained youth temporarily housed in facilities other than the Mendocino County Juvenile Hall; authorize the Chief Probation Officer to sign any future amendments to the Agreement that do not increase the maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.
End

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
The Board of Supervisors approve the First Amendment to Agreement JH-J23-003 on May 6, 2025.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Mendocino County Juvenile Hall (MCJH) is in need of a security guard provider. Because of self-imposed ratios of county staff, it is necessary that the MCJH contract with a vendor to provide security for inmates temporarily housed in facilities other than the MCJH, such as hospital or other facilities outside of the Juvenile Hall. This allows services for detained youth to run smoothly and provide safety to the community. This is not a service that is routinely required; however, it is essential that these services are available during an unplanned or emergency situation.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION/MOTION:
Return to department for alternative handling.
