Approve Agreement with County of Sonoma Probation Department to provide detention services for Mendocino County youth placed in the facility effective date Agreement is fully executed by all parties, with a maximum amount of $300,000 per fiscal year; authorize the Chief Probation Officer to sign any future amendments which do not increase the total contract amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On December 6, 2022, the Board of Supervisors approved an agreement with County of Sonoma Probation Department to provide detention services for the period of November 1, 2022, through October 31, 2024.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Sonoma County Juvenile Hall and Probation Camp ("facilities") is among a select number of probation departments that offer housing for secure track youth who cannot be housed at Mendocino County Juvenile Hall due to secured track youth population, services/programming available based on the needs of the juvenile, or age of juvenile to be placed. Secure track youth are individuals whose care and custody has been realigned to local probation departments as a result of SB 8223, who prior to SB 823, would have been sentenced to the care and custody of the Division of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) for the duration of their sentence.
