Summary of Request:
The Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services is bringing forward this proclamation highlighting education and awareness as being fundamental to saving lives in a tsunami event. The County of Mendocino and Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services will test the Alert system by sending a test message to every registered contact point on Wednesday, March 24th, 2021. The Sheriff’s Office requests the adoption of this resolution recognizing the necessity to educate the public on tsunami hazards along the Mendocino County coast and the need to test the public mass notification systems in partnership with federal, state, and local response partners.
