PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On February 3, 2026, the Board of Supervisors ratified the submission of an application by the Library for the California State Library's Lunch at the Library Summer 2026 grant and authorized acceptance of an award of $23,764 to provide library services to youth at summer sites throughout the County.
Over the past three years, the Board of Supervisors has ratified the Library's submission of applications and authorized acceptance of awards from the California State Library's Lunch at the Library program to provide library services and educational activities for youth at summer meal sites throughout Mendocino County.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The California State Library provides an annual funding opportunity for libraries to coordinate with local food providers to serve lunch and provide educational activities for students up to age 18. During the summer months, youth have limited access to healthy meals and learning and enrichment programs.
