Adopt Resolution authorizing the Department of Transportation (DOT) to advertise for bids and award, for an amount greater than previously authorized; previously authorized estimate of $516,000, increased to $1,104,000, DOT Contract Number (No.) 160078 to construct the Laytonville Pedestrian Bridge over Ten Mile Creek on Branscomb Road, County Road 429 (Laytonville Area); and authorize Chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
By Resolution 09-240 (October 27, 2009), the Board of Supervisors (BOS) approved this project to construct a ? 120 foot long by 8 foot wide pedestrian bridge over Ten Mile Creek along Branscomb Road. By Resolution No. 16-142 (December 6, 2016), BOS gave the Director of Transportation authority to advertise for bids and award DOT Contract No. 160078 for construction costs up to $516,000.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
DOT has prepared construction plans, specifications, estimates, and contract documents for DOT Contract No. 160078, for the Laytonville Pedestrian Bridge over Ten Mile Creek. This project is for construction of a new bridge and approaches alongside the existing vehicle bridge.
This project was advertised for bids on December 8, 2016. Bids were opened on January 19, 2017 to which three sealed bids were received. All bids came in substantially high...
