PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
The Board of Supervisors ratified a letter of support for Assembly Bill 830 (Rogers) on April 8, 2025, and again on July 29, 2025.
The Board of Supervisors regularly issues support letters that align with the 2025 Legislative Platform. These letters advocate for adequate and ongoing federal and state funding, timely distribution of resources, increased local authority, and flexibility in administering and providing services.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Since the County's previous letters were submitted, the proposed legislation has progressed through the legislative process. It is now enrolled and has been sent to the Governor for signature or veto. To ensure that the County's concerns are officially recorded and effectively communicated to decision-makers at every stage, it is necessary to submit a follow-up support letter. This letter will reaffirm the County's position, highlight the benefits of the bill, and encourage the Governor to support the measure. Ongoing engagement is essential to advocate for the County's interests and ensure its voice is heard throughout the bill's progression.
