RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Adopt resolution authorizing the County of Mendocino Chief Executive Officer or designee to prepare, sign and submit any and all applications, agreements, or other documents deemed necessary to conduct free dump or bulky item amnesty days through Caltrans' Clean California Program and to expend funds in furtherance of such activities in the amount of up to $200,000, with such expenses anticipated to be reimbursed by Caltrans (Countywide); and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Department of Transportation (DOT) desires authorization to implement countywide free dump or bulky item amnesty days in response to the increasing illegal dumping issues facing the County. DOT, in coordination with Caltrans, proposes to hold approximately six events countywide at which the general public can drop off bulky items at local transfer stations free of charge.
