Approve Agreement with Redwood Community Services, Inc., in the amount of $300,000, to provide Emergency Support Services for high needs children detained by the Department of Social Services, Family and Children's Services, effective July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025; authorize the Department of Social Services Director or designee to sign any future amendments that do not increase the maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
In Mendocino County, the placement and care of children who have been removed from the custody of
their parents or guardians under Welfare and Institutions Code Section 300 is the responsibility of the
Mendocino County Department of Social Services, Family and Children's Services (FCS). FCS has contracted with Redwood Community Services, Inc. (RCS) in the past to help provide these services. Between the period of July 1, 2023, and January 9, 2024, FCS provided a total of 100 days of direct care and supervision for 5 foster youth, with the assistance of ESS provided by RCS, while locating appropriate foster care placements for these youth.
