Ratify submission of grant application to the joint effort of the California Department of Health Care Services and Advocates for Human Potential, for the Behavioral Health Justice Intervention Services Project, for the period of February 15, 2022 through February 14, 2023; and authorize the Director of Behavioral Health and Recovery Services to sign any resulting contract Agreement awarded, up to $245,959, and any amendments that do not increase the maximum amount.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Behavioral Health Justice Intervention Services (BHJIS) project is a joint effort between the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and Advocates for Human Potential (AHP). BHJIS provides funding to help local communities address critical intervention points through which individuals with mental illness and substance use disorders can be diverted from criminal justice involvement towards a wide array of appropriate services and activities.
