RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Adopt resolution ratifying submission of grant application to California Department of Justice Tobacco Grant Program, in the amount of $795,544, to enforce state tobacco laws and local ordinances, including the statewide flavor ban through retailer inspections and enforcement operations, provide retailer training and education in Mendocino County, for the period of July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028; authorize the Director of Health Services or designee to sign any resulting Agreement awarded, up to $795,544; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The California Healthcare, Research and Prevention Tobacco Tax Act of 2016 (Proposition 56) funding helps promote a healthier California by reducing illegal retail sales and marketing of tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, to minors.
