RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Adopt resolution increasing the authority of the County of Mendocino Chief Executive Officer to expend funds in furtherance of free dump or bulky item amnesty days through Caltrans' Clean California Program from $200,000 to $400,000, with such expenses anticipated to be reimbursed by Caltrans; approve corresponding request for appropriation (Countywide); and authorize Chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
By Resolution Number (No.) 22-054 (March 1, 2022), the Board authorized the County of Mendocino Chief Executive Officer (CEO) or designee to prepare, sign and submit any and all applications, agreements, or other documents deemed necessary to conduct free dump or bulky item amnesty days through Caltrans' Clean California Program and to expend funds in furtherance of such activities in the amount of up to $200,000, with such expenses anticipated to be reimbursed by Caltrans.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Since March 1, 2022, Department of Transportation (DOT), in collaboration with Caltrans, local transfer station operators and other stakeholders, has brought numerous free dump days, and bulky item and tire amnesty days to the residents of Mendocino County with funding from the Clean California Program.
