Approve Lease amendment to the Lease of 474 E. Valley Street (Willits), Suite A, to the State of California Department of General Services for use as office Space by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CalFire) ) to expand the Lease to include the entire building, increase the monthly rent to $12,960 (to be increased by 2% annually); and authorize Chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
Adoption of Ordinance No. 4338, on June 16, 2015, which amended Chapter 2.32 - Purchasing Agent in its entirety. Section 2.32.110 in part provides that the Purchasing Agent may enter into certain leases of County real property that are under $5,000 in monthly rent and for a duration not to exceed 10 years.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
To account for additional staffing needs in Mendocino County, in 2023 CalFire approached the County regarding leasing space at 474 E. Valley Street. The Purchasing Agent negotiated a lease of 2,300 square feet of office space at that location, to the State Department of General Services for CalFire's use.
