PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On October 4, 2022, the Board approved the MOU with the Superior Court of California, County of Mendocino, for court security services provided by the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office. On June 20, 2023, the Board approved the first amendment to the MOU extending the end date from June 30, 2023, to June 30, 2024.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Superior Court Security Act of 2012, California Government Code ? 69920 et. seq. requires the Sheriff, with the approval of the Board of Supervisors, to enter into an MOU with the Superior Court of California to provide an agreed-upon level of court security services, and other agreed-upon operating procedures. The current MOU is set to expire on June 30, 2024. The Sheriff's Office and Superior Court of California, County of Mendocino, are in agreement to extend the end date of the MOU by one additional year through June 30, 2025. All other terms and conditions contained in the MOU shall remain in full force and effect.
