PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
In December 2023, the Board of Supervisors ratified MCERA's employment agreement with Doris L. Rentschler for the term December 19, 2023, to December 19, 2026. This agreement provided for a 3% increase of the then existing salary on December 19, 2024.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Pursuant to Government Code ?3511.2, a contract between a public entity and an agency executive cannot provide for automatic renewal of a contract that provides for an automatic increase in the level of compensation that exceeds a cost of living adjustment. Since the most recently published California CPI increase of 2.7% is less than the agreed upon salary increase of 3%, the Board of Supervisors is required to ratify the increase.
