PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
By Resolution Number (No.) 07-008 (January 9, 2007) the Board authorized the Director of Transportation to execute change orders pursuant to section 20395 of the California Public Contract Code, subject to certain cost limitations.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Public Contract Code section 20395 allows for the Board of Supervisors to authorize the Director of Transportation (County Road Commissioner) or a registered civil engineer under the direction of the Director of Transportation to execute contract change orders subject to certain cost limitations. Although Resolution 07-008 authorized the Director to execute change orders, the cost limitations were set to those in effect at that time. These cost limitations have been periodically updated since 2007 and will continue to be updated periodically in the future.
