Approve first amendment to BOS Agreement No. 24-010 with David J. Rapport, Attorney at Law in the amount of $10,000 for an Agreement for fiscal year 25/26 for a new Agreement amount of $30,000 and extending the Agreement expiration date from June 30, 2025, to June 30, 2026, to provide ongoing legal counsel to the Civil Service Commission; and authorize Chair to sign same.

On January 23, 2024, the Board approved Agreement No. 24-010 with David J. Rapport, Attorney at Law, and on May 7, 2024, the Board approved Amendment No. 24-010-A1.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
David Rapport has served many years as legal counsel to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and is familiar with County processes and procedures, and fully aware of the County culture and Civil Service Rules. Mr. Rapport is qualified to serve as counsel to our CSC, providing the County with excellent service, and serves other local governing bodies in our community. Mr. Rapport has experience and knowledge required to advise the County in civil service proceedings, employment law, and Brown Act procedures and compliance.
