PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
Ongoing Agreement; last action (FY2024-25 Agreement): May 21, 2024, Item 3y, Agreement No. BOS-20-108. On May 20, 2025, the Board approved an Agreement with Social Services in the amount of $70,000 for similar mortuary services during FY2025-26.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
On March 17, 2025, the Executive Office approved Exception to Bid No. 25-102 for an Agreement between the Sheriff's Office and Eversole Mortuary for the continuation of mortuary services within the Central Operations Sector of Mendocino County for FY2025-26. Social Services also has an Agreement with Eversole Mortuary for similar services through a separate Board Agreement, BOS 25-054, in the amount of $70,000 effective July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.

Since BOS Agreement 25-054 and the proposed Sheriff's Office Agreement are for similar services with the same contractor, the aggregate total during FY2025-26 determines the appropriate signatory authority. In this instance, the $110,000 aggregate amount for these services exceeds the Purchasing Agent level of authority outlined in County Policy. The proposed Agreement therefore requires approval by the Board of Supervisors.
