SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Department of Planning & Building Services has identified a need for professional debt collection services to assist in recovering unpaid fines, fees, and violation penalties associated with code enforcement cases. Currently, there is an outstanding balance of approximately $5,939,710.00 owed to the County, and the amount continues to increase as additional violations occur and remain unpaid. The purpose of this Agreement with Cedars Business Services, LLC (CBS) is to provide collection services and pursue recovery of outstanding funds on behalf of the County, at no additional expense or staff time to County; CBS will collect their fee only upon successful recovery of outstanding Code Enforcement balances.
