RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Approve the Mutual Aid Agreement between the County of Mendocino and the County of Humboldt for the mutual provision of temporary secure detention non-exclusive space for detained youth during an emergency evacuation for the period of Fiscal Year 2024-2025 through Fiscal Year 2026-2027, for an amount not to exceed $50,000 per fiscal year, and a maximum amount of $150,000 for the term of the Agreement; authorize the Chief Probation Officer to sign any future amendments that do not increase the total annual and/or total maximum Agreement amounts; and authorize Chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
The County of Mendocino has previously contracted with the County of Humboldt's Probation and Department of Health and Human Services-Mental Health departments to provide mental health treatment services as well as secure detention services to Mendocino County wards placed at the Northern California Regional Facility in the New Horizon's Program on an as-needed basis. The availability of these services was discontinued as of June 30, 2020.
