PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
Since 2016, the development of the Legislative Platform has been referred to the Board of Supervisor's General Government Standing Committee. On October 23, 2024, the General Government Committee reviewed the draft 2025 Legislative Platform along with suggestions from the public. On November 13, 2024, the General Government Committee reviewed the draft 2025 Legislative Platform again and referred the 2025 Legislative Platform to the Board of Supervisors.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Pursuant to County Policy No. 19, the Board of Supervisors adopts an annual Legislative Platform reflecting the County's priorities for legislative advocacy, State and Federal funding, and issues of interest to local government. The proposed 2025 Legislative Platform includes the following categories: regulatory mandates and reform, governmental transparency and public access, county roads and infrastructure, climate resilience and renewable energy, disaster prevention, recovery, resiliency and mitigation, COVID-19 response and recovery, natural resources, agriculture, economic & community development, cannabis, public safety, health and human services, public health, behavioral health, and homelessness. Supervisors Haschak and McGourty request that the Board of Supervisors review the proposed legislative priorities and adopt the 2025 Legislative Platform.
