SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The City of Point Arena receives an annual allocation of Supplemental Law Enforcement Program (COPS) funds in the amount of $100,000 to be used exclusively for front-line law enforcement services. The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office provides front-line law enforcement services for the City of Point Arena in exchange for payment of the City's annual COPS allocation of $100,000. Law enforcement services agreements such as this one are authorized and provided for by California Government Code Section 51301. The Agreement runs July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2022.

The Agreement is being presented for retroactive Board consideration because an agreement was started in 2017, but the contract process was never completed. MCSO has been providing services and billing the City on a monthly basis.
