Approve retroactive Agreement with Deaf Counseling Advocacy and Referral dba Communique Interpreting, Inc. in the amount of $18,000, to provide onsite American Sign Language and deaf interpreting services for Mendocino County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, Mental Health clients, effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029; authorize the Health Services Director, or designee to sign any future amendments to the Agreement that do not increase the maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Behavioral Health and Recovery Services is federally, and state mandated to provide access to language interpretation services for all clients. Deaf Counseling Advocacy and Referral dba Communique Interpreting has been providing American Sign Language (ASL) services to Social Services, Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, and Public Health clients for many years. These services are very specific, for a limited population, and it is difficult to predetermine when extensive services may be needed.
Board of Supervisors approval is requested per Purchasing Agent direction based on the contract's aggregate total with other County contracts.
