Department of Transportation (DOT) Agreement No. 260013 provides for preliminary engineering and design work, including completion of the project approval and environmental documents (PA&ED), and plans, specifications, and estimate (PS&E), needed for the Covelo/Round Valley Safe Routes to School Project. The project aims to increase pedestrian and bicyclist safety; calm traffic; and improve accessibility of school routes through the installation of sidewalks, curbs, gutters, crosswalks, bike lanes, and other infrastructure methods along Howard Street, County Road (CR) 334D, Airport Road, CR 337B, and Foothill Boulevard, CR 337A, in the town of Covelo, California.
