SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The newest round of Cannabis Equity Grant (CEG) program funds, also known as Local Equity Entrepreneurial Program (LEEP) funds, CEG-2026-688, requires grant revenues be deposited into a federally-insured, interest-bearing account. This is a change since previous rounds of funding and requires a new Fund to accurately track the grant revenues. The Cannabis Division, in coordination with the Auditors Office, is requesting Board approval to create a new Fund (4980), Budget Unit (0498), Org (LEEP26), Program (WOLP26) to satisfy this grant requirement.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION/MOTION:
Do not approve the request for a new Fund creation and provide alternative direction to staff.
