Approve Agreement with MCAVHN (Mendocino County AIDS/Viral Hepatitis Network) Care and Prevention Network, in the amount of $257,500 for its HCV (Hepatitis C Virus) Program, effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028; authorize the Public Health Director or designee to sign any future amendments that do not increase the maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
MCAVHN (Mendocino County AIDS/Viral Hepatitis Network) Care and Prevention Network has been serving the local Mendocino County community since 1987, providing services and support to persons affected by substance use disorders and behavioral health conditions, as well as harm reduction services for the prevention of Hepatitis C and HIV. Through previous Agreements with the County of Mendocino, MCAVHN has provided services in compliance with best practices of the California Department of Public Health's Syringe Exchange Certification Program. The purpose of these services is to reduce the spread of infectious diseases that threaten public health, improve the safe disposal of syringes while reducing the inappropriate disposal of syringes and medications that threaten the public, and engage individuals who are injection drug users to connect them with recovery and treatment services.
