RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Approve retroactive Agreement with County of Stanislaus in the amount of $150,000 to provide mental health services to qualified Mendocino County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services clients, effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029; authorize the Health Services Director or designee to sign any future amendments to the Agreement that do not increase the annual maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The County of Stanislaus contracts with several Short-Term Residential Treatment Programs (STRTPs) that are both located in and certified in Stanislaus County. In contrast, Mendocino County faces limited local options for placing youth clients in STRTPs locally and must often rely on out-of-county placements. These STRTPs offer a comprehensive range of services, allowing Mendocino County youth to access the specific level of care needed within a structured environment to address mental health challenges.

There are a limited number of STRTPs in California, making it challenging to find and secure beds for youth requiring mental health services. Mendocino County BHRS intends to continue contracting with the County of Stanislaus to provide these services for youth placed at STRTPs in Stanislaus County by Mendocino County Family and Children's Services.
