Adopt Resolution authorizing the submittal of application to the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) for the 2017/2018 CDBG MIT-PPS Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) not to exceed $400,000 to request funding for the Mendocino County Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan (MJHMP) Update Project; and authorize the Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Mendocino County is applying for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Mitigation-Planning and Public Services (MIT-PPS) 2017 funds to fund the mandatory update of the Mendocino County Multi-Jurisdiction Hazard Mitigation Plan (MJHMP) which was last approved by FEMA in 2021 and is due for update by 2026. 44 CFR Part 201.6.c.4.i requires that approved mitigation plans are updated every five years, and this project responds to that mandate. The plan must also be updated to place a stronger emphasis on hazards that have had a significant impact on the County, including severe drought, winter storms, and wildfires.
