RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Ratify submission of grant application for the FY 2023 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program Local Solicitation in the amount of $15,913 for the replacement of aged computer equipment to be utilized between October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2025; and authorize the Sheriff to accept the funds and sign the resulting revenue Agreement if awarded by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).

The ratification of submission of the FY21 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant application, Item No. 4(u), was approved on September 14, 2021.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The U.S. Department of Justice Edward Byrne JAG Program issues an opportunity for local governments to apply for funds each year. The goal of the funding is to provide units of local government with additional personnel, equipment, supplies, contractual support, training, technical assistance, and information systems for criminal justice. The proposed award for Mendocino County in 2023 is $15,913 and the application deadline is August 31, 2023.
