Approve retroactive lease Agreement with Willits Unified School District (WUSD) in the annual amount of $600 (total amount $6,000), to allow AQMD to install and maintain trailer-mounted air monitoring equipment on WUSD property, with a ten (10) year term, commencing on July 1, 2025; authorize the Chief Executive Officer or designee to sign any future amendments that do not increase the maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Mendocino County Air Quality Management District (MCAQMD) seeks Board approval of a lease agreement with the Willits Unified School District (WUSD) in the total amount of $6,000 for a 10-year term. This lease authorizes MCAQMD's installation and maintenance of a trailer-mounted PM2.5 Federal/State regulatory air monitoring station on school district property.

MCAQMD is required by state and federal regulation to operate this monitor, which collects air quality data for PM2.5 that is reported to both the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for regulatory compliance and public health assessment. Willits has been designated as a PM2.5 monitoring location by both the State of California and the EPA.
