SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Regents of the University of California provides program-specific training to County staff through its UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education program. With caseload increases and regulatory changes over the last several years, it has been necessary to seek external training opportunities for staff. The curriculum provided by UC Davis is relevant to eligibility and job services topics and designed to improve accuracy and efficiency in the administration of public assistance benefits, which will serve to increase the ability of staff to meet the needs of vulnerable County residents. As of December 2024 Department of Social Services was managing eligibility for 25,813 cases (43,093 persons).
