SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Starting January 1, 2018, California Department of Social Services (CDSS) gave counties the option to opt-in to the Emergency Child Care Bridge Program for foster children. The Bridge Program requires counties to contract with their local Child Care Resource and Referral programs to provide child care navigation and trauma-informed care trainings and coaching. North Coast Opportunities, Inc. (NCO) is the only Child Care Resource and Referral program in Mendocino County, and has contracted with Mendocino County in the past to provide these services.

Through such contracts, from July 2023 through April 2024, NCO provided child care navigation services for 28 unduplicated foster children and their 18 caregivers. NCO scheduled 10 trauma-informed trainings, as well as 7 coaching sessions.
