SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
These two Department of Transportation (DOT) contracts will provide for construction of the 2023 Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) projects on various County roads, at an estimated cost of $1,200,000 (~$900,000 for guardrail upgrades and ~$300,000 for systemic roadway segment improvements). Funding for Fiscal Years (FY) 2024-25 and 2025-26 is budgeted through Budget Unit (BU) 3041 and is anticipated to be 90% reimbursable through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), with the local match funded with road funds. The Project includes upgrading existing guardrails and end treatments at areas with a high probability of vehicles unintentionally exiting the roadway. Upgrades will occur along East Side Potter Valley Road at mile post (MP) 6.00 and 6.21, Point Cabrillo Drive, at MP 2.65 and 2.85, Babcock Lane, at MP 0.10, Primrose Drive at MP 1.60, and Comptche-Ukiah Road at MP 7.30.
