Ratify submission of grant application to the California Department of Public Health, Advancing Oral Health Equity in California 2027-2030 Local Oral Health Program; authorize the Health Services Director to execute the resulting grant Agreement, if awarded, up to $251,622, for the project period of July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2030; and authorize the Health Services Director or designee to sign any amendments that do not increase the maximum amount.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Office of Oral Health (OOH) provides funding to Local Oral Health Programs (LOHP) to support evidence-based oral disease prevention programs. Mendocino County Public Health (MCPH) has received this funding since 2017 and currently administers the LOHP for the 2022-2027 grant cycle.

The 2025 Mendocino County Oral Health Needs Assessment (NA), which was informed by the 2025 CHNA, revealed three major oral health challenges: limited access to care, low community oral health awareness and education that contributed to KOHA reporting issues, and persistent barriers for underserved populations.
