RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Approve Agreement with United Way of the Wine Country in the amount of $60,000 to provide 2-1-1 Referral Services, effective upon full execution through June 30, 2022; authorize the Health and Human Services Agency Assistant Director/Social Services Director to sign any amendments to the Agreement that do not increase the maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
United Way of the Wine Country (UWWC) is a regional agency focused on creating community-based and community-led solutions that strengthen the cornerstones for a good quality of life: education, financial stability and health. UWWC provides United Way coverage for much of the North Coast, including for Sonoma, Mendocino, Lake, Humboldt, and Del Norte Counties. Sonoma County contracts with UWWC to provide 2-1-1 services for Sonoma and Humboldt counties. 2-1-1 is the health and human services hotline that maintains an updated database and answers calls and texts 24/7. Mendocino and UWWC/Sonoma originally worked together to contract for 2-1-1 services (~2012), but when UWWC changed its contractor in order to improve services (~2018), HHSA did not have the staffing to address the issue. Mendocino continued to contract with the Inland Empire United Way to provide 2-1-1 services in Mendocino County.
