Summary of Request

The dedication of child care providers to the children of our communities allow parents the opportunity to attend school and/or work to be productive members of society while knowing their children are receiving safe, healthy, and loving care in their absence.  Child care providers are too often the unsung heroes of a critical partnership in raising well-adjusted, healthy, responsible children for our world.

Child care providers work diligently and their rewards are often intrinsic rather than monetary.  Child care is an industry that contributes directly and indirectly to the economic base of Mendocino County.  This Proclamation seeks to shine the spot light on these professional care givers to bring about the recognition they so deserve.

Alternative Action/Motion:

Do not adopt the Proclamation.
