Approve agreement with Resource Development Associates for grant research and grant writing services in the amount of $100,000 for the fiscal year 2016-17 & 2017-18; authorize the Chief Executive Officer or designee to sign any future amendments to the Agreement that do not increase the annual maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
In the Fiscal year 2016-17 Budget, the Board of Supervisors appropriated funds to hire a consultant to provide coordinated grant research and grant writing services.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The County conducted a Request for Proposals process and selected Resource Development Associates as the contracted grant research and writing firm. The consultant will review existing County programs and services; meet with the CEO and department heads to determine priorities; research the availability of federal, state, and private foundation grant programs; and upon approval of the CEO and/or Board of Supervisors, initiate and complete the preparation of the required funding applications.
A draft feasibility report on potential funding opportunities will be presented to the Board in the coming months for review and direction.
